The bilateral stimulation techniques offered and exercises seen in the therapeutic toolkits are a compilation of self-administered self-soothing techniques and exercises. The various techniques offered are a compilation of methods founded by the clinicians mentioned below while other approaches were adapted by Jacque and Toni.
The Butterfly Hug tapping technique was developed by two practitioners, Lucina Artigas, M.A., M.T., and Ignacio Jarero, Ed. D., Ph.D., M.T. The Butterfly Hug was taught to survivors of hurricane Pauline in Mexico, in 1998 which demonstrated to be highly effective for helping those during this incredibly devastating time.
